Come and stay in the real Italy, in a charming cottage in a beautiful village
Coreglia Antelminelli is officially one of the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy. Here you can experience real Italian life, away from the tourist traps.
The village has three cafe bars, where you can breakfast on cappucini and pastries every day, or stop for an aperitivo later, two grocery stores - one 30 metres away, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office, a butcher, two hairdressers and several restaurants. There are beautiful churches: just opposite Villa Pavone is a Romanesque church, San Martino, dating from the 9th Century. In the summer, there can be up to five festas in a week! These include the mediaeval Festa della Antico Borgo, with all sorts of activities and shows, culminating in a firework display to rival London at New Year. Really.
There are some lovely walks around the village, on forest paths with beautiful mountain views.
You can watch the local football team play on the village grounds, and hear the roars, the singing, the hooting and the celebrations throughout the village if the team wins.
Or if you fancy a game of tennis, just book the village court at the local bar.
